I just finished reading The Alchemist. It is a charming little novel, with a simple and lovely story. It is an allegory for pursuing one’s dreams and listening to one’s heart (literally, in some ways).
For me it is a reminder to not give up. A reminder that although the path is long and arduous, and sometimes I don’t even know if I am on a path at all, I must keep on following it. I must not stop myself nor allow others to stop me. And I must not be afraid of the path or the destination.
I met a friend for a drink one afternoon. She suggested a place down on the waterfront called Against the Grain. It wasn’t overly-expensive, the appetizer we ordered was tasty, and the view was pleasant.
This week I’ve been eating (drinking?) smoothies for breakfast. They’ve been pretty similar: 2-3oz yogurt, 2-3oz soy milk, 2oz frozen blueberries, half a banana, 1-2oz of greens. Sometimes an egg yolk or some other fruit added, occasionally fruit juice or walnuts.
I don’t know if it’s just the smoothies or that I’m generally paying closer attention to what I eat and how much, or the increased exercise, but I feel great!
I bought my niece and nephew some treats for Easter and needed a nice way to package them up. Plain brown paper bags and markers to the rescue!
