Waterfront evening

I met a friend for a drink one afternoon. She suggested a place down on the waterfront called Against the Grain. It wasn’t overly-expensive, the appetizer we ordered was tasty, and the view was pleasant.

They have a patio right on the water. I expect we’ll be back there once it’s warm enough to sit on that patio. In the hallway outside the restaurant was an iridescent fishy sculpture. It was kinetic and moved like a school of fish, flashing its colours in quick flicks.

Outside, a freighter was leaving the sugar refinery and being guided out of the harbour by two small blue and white tugboats. Tugboats are cute.

I’m looking forward to warmer weather and sitting on that patio so I can watch the whole process of a freighter either arriving or departing.
